About Driftwood Rhythms

Too easily one can become trapped by the cage of everyday life. Whether this cage is the soulless chasm of a 9 to 5 job or just the fear thereof, it is this cage that fuels our desire for freedom. The search for freedom is an endless longing that resides within each and everyone of us. Unfortunately, it is rarely realised and many end their lives in a state of want, lingering on what could have been. However, there are those among us who are reckless enough to challenge themselves to pursue this never ending search. And where better to search for freedom than on the open road?

We use Driftwoodrhythms to document our quest for freedom. Sharing our experiences in the hope of inspiring others to take the plunge and start exploring the awesome world we live in. If you’re interested in becoming a part of our adventure take some time and wander across to our travels.

About Us

Ah, where to begin? Well, let’s start at the beginning, I was born in a small town in Mpumalanga on . . . just kidding!

My wife and I got married right after I decided to finally end my journey of “enlightenment” (hmm the worry-free existence of a university student). On our one month anniversary we hopped on a plane to Shanghai. We are currently ESL teachers and spend our time exploring China and South East Asia. If you’d like to learn more about us, don’t be shy, you’re just a click away from our about page.
